We can hear talks on health and hygiene. Advertisement are made through television for commercial purposes.
Television programmers are not only entertaining; they can be highly educative too. Children can enrich their knowledge by watching various programmes on education. In advanced countries, it is used as an instrument of mass education. Farmers can witness the modern methods of cultivation in television.
A wide range of programmers of varied interest is telecast on numerous cannels. Almost every middle class and even working class families have a television set today.
Television is used for distance learning. Several channels telecast highly informative programmers. Satellite telecasting has added new dimensions to television.

Thus television is an effective instrument of entertainment as well as a valuable medium of instructions. It, indeed, plays an important role.
